Not the Typical Christmas Day

Since we're in the middle of summertime here, Christmas days are spent a little differently in the southern hemisphere. Megan and I went with some friends to the nearby Riedvlei Dam and Game Reserve yesterday where we drove through the beautiful game park and saw zebra, ostrich, rhino, jackal, assorted buck, and numerous sub-tropical birds. We didn't see a lot of the animals we were hoping to encounter (hippos, cheetahs. Guess they were on holiday, too).

We shared a nice picnic lunch together by a picturesque lake and enjoyed the 82F, sunny day (once again, not the typical Christmas weather to which we're accustomed). Last night, we went over to Lilande's boyfriend Michael's flat (apartment) where we made home-made, personalized designer pizzas (incredibly good) and played Bible Triva until 9:30 pm. Megan and I won in a nailbiter that was close until the end versus Lucas/Leona and Michael/Lilande.
