During our weekend stay in the Drakensberg Mountains, we went on a hike to the Grotto, a secluded waterfall and pool deep in the forest.
The stunning Drakensberg Mountains of Kwazulu-Natal in summertime.
Our hike to the Grotto crossed several streams and rivers.
The sun was out and the weather was beautiful when our hike began, but we were caught in a rain shower on the way back from the hike and returned soaking wet.
Our hiking path took us across many beautiful streams surrounded by lush African vegetation.

Our destination, the Grotto, a secluded waterfall and natural pool.
Kissing underneath a secluded waterfall deep in the African forest, very romantic.
Another waterfall nearby the Grotto.
After a hot, steamy hike in the jungle, a cold natural shower felt refreshing for Megan and I!

With heavy rains lately in South Africa, many natural waterfalls spouted up along the hiking path.
